Who We Are
Our story begins with a 12 year-old girl, sitting on the tile floor of her living room, in Argentina. Summer crickets could be heard from outside, becoming the comforting hum that Lorena had gotten used to.
The floor around her was a mess of yarn and wrinkled magazines. She fiddled with the crochet hook in one hand, lazily flipping through crochet patterns with the other. Fingers fumbling with the yarn and hook, she began.
Slowly, like that very summer day, a curtain formed. It certainly wasn’t the prettiest. Some stitches uneven, others tangled. Lorena squinted at it, holding it in front of her. She could do better. And she would.
And she did. Again and again and again. Lorena made countless pieces of clothing, continuing until her stitches were even. Until the clothing had become more art than clothes. Until she looked at each finished piece, and smiled.
